Heins to celebrate 60th anniversary years ago

Emice and Lydia Hein will be guests of honor Sept. 30 at an open house to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary.

The event will be from 3 to 5 p.m. at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church, 300 Prairie Pointe, Hillsboro.

Emice Hein and Lydia June Adrian were married Sept. 29, 1947, at Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church, Buhler.

Emice worked for 20 years for the Marion County Road and Bridge Department, retiring in 1996. Lydia worked in the dietary department at Prairie View until 1991. They now own and operate Grannie's Homemade Mustard.

The event will be hosted by Barry and Adele Houglend, Michael Hein of McPherson, Ken and Iva Hein of Durham, and Eugene and Rita Hein of Newton. They also have four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

The couple requests no gifts.
