Helen Bechtold

Helen Marie Bechthold, 82, of Hutchinson, died July 28, 2005.

Born July 1, 1923, at Marion, she was the daughter of Frank and Mabel (Voris) Lewellen.

On June 6, 1941, she married Henry Bechthold at Wichita. He died in 1978.

She was a graduate of Adela Hale Business College and was a bookkeeper for Jackson's Frozen Foods, retiring after 21 years.

She was a member of 10th Avenue United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, American Business Women, and Evangelical Women's Missionary Society.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Kash; and two brothers, John Lewellen and Boyd Lewellen.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara McVey of Hutchinson and Bonnie Lea Byrum of Midwest City, Okla.; six grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Wayne Johnson officiating.

Burial was in Fairlawn Burial Park.

Memorial funds have been established with American Heart Foundation, American Lung Association, and Arthritis Foundation (Kansas Chapter).
