Herb Friesen
Herb Friesen, 75, died Sept. 12, 2005, at Hillsboro Community Medical Center, Hillsboro.
Born Jan. 8, 1930, at Inola, Okla., he was the son of Jacob and Tina (Harder) Friesen.
He was an ophthalmologist and member of Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church, Hillsboro.
On Aug. 12, 1955, he married Ruth Wiebe at Delft, Minn.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Hillsboro; four sons, Stan Friesen of Buffalo, N.Y., Brad Friesen of Afghanistan, Ron Friesen of Morocco, and Daniel Friesen of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; a daughter, Julie Reimer of Topeka; six brothers, John, Jake, Cal, Frank, Paul, and Marvin; a sister, Esther Friesen; and 16 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Parkview MB Church, Hillsboro, with Pastor Steve Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in Ebenfeld Cemetery.
A Friesen Mission Fund has been established.
