Hett advances in junior golf competition
Travis Hett recently participated in four Kansas Junior Golf Association North Central Kansas Sectional Tournaments and will advance to the championship tournament.
Hett shot a 71 on June 2 at Hesston Golf Park, placing first in his age division and second overall. He won the 14- to 15-year-old age division in the four tournaments competing with 35 to 40 boys.
He participated June 7 at Rolling Meadows, Junction City, June 14 at Salina Municipal Golf Park, and June 30 at Salina Country Club.
Hett will compete against 19 other golfers July 26 and 27 in his age division in the section team championship at Carey Park, Hutchinson.
To qualify, players must earn points in the four sectional tournaments. This is the second time Hett has qualified for the section team championship.
Hett is the son of Aaron and Lanell Hett of Marion.
