Hetts report on trip to New Jersey

Aaron and Lanell Hett, Nickolas, Travis, and Lindsay of Marion and Andy and Kristi Hett of McPherson returned recently from a trip to Morristown, N.J., where they visited their uncle and aunt, Lew and LaVonda Rothman and family and Tom and Shelli Stafford of Hays, already were guests at the Rothman home.

The group enjoyed a Fourth of July potluck party July 3 at the Rothman estate. The family were July 4 guests at the lakeside home of Michael and Maureen, friends of the Rothmans. They enjoyed an evening meal and fireworks.

They enjoyed golfing with Lew several times at Fiddler's Elbow Country Club, which features three courses — the River, the Meadow, and the Forest.

The Rothmans provided a limousine service for a day in New York City for the Hett families. They enjoyed a visit to Ground Zero, the Statue of Liberty, the Museum of Natural History, Central Park, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, J.R. Cigar, and a stop at Chinatown.

While seated in Central Park Nickolas and Travis Hett recognized actor Kevin James of comedy TV show "King of Queens," and had their photo taken with him.

The families enjoyed several evenings of playing couples' pitch tournaments, days and evenings by the pool and spa, and Aunt Vonda's homegrown fruits and vegetables.

Other family members present for some of the activities included Samantha Rothman, John Hankin, Luke Rothman, Marnie Rothman, and her fiancé Kevin.
