Hillsboro: Resident reports theft of mo-ped

Hillsboro Police Department received a complaint from Roger Almos that his 1982 Yamaha mo-ped was stolen Friday from his garage at 207 S. Jefferson Street, Hillsboro. The theft occurred between Thursday and Friday, and the loss was estimated at $150.

Aug. 27: Suspicious activity and possible criminal trespass were reported in the 400 block of South Main Street; no forced entry was found. A 911 disconnect in the 500 block of East D Street was reported. Suspicious activity was reported in the 300 block of North Ash Street. Business watch packets were delivered. A noise complaint was made in the 200 block of West D Street. Suspicious activity was reported at Memorial Park.

Aug. 28: KBI received assistance with an investigation. Two female juveniles were reported trespassing and possibly vandalizing Tabor College property. A lost cell phone was reported. Assistance was provided to court services with an investigation. SRS received assistance with taking a child into protective custody. A parking complaint was filed in the 300 block of South Adams Street. A noise complaint was made in the 400 block of East D Street.

Aug. 29: Marion County Sheriff's Department received assistance with an investigation. Assistance was provided to EMS in the 300 block of North Jefferson Street.

Aug. 30: A parking complaint was made in the 100 block of North Jefferson Street. A funeral escort was conducted. A U.S. marshal received assistance in locating a wanted felon. Citations were issued for park curfew violations. A noise complaint was filed on D Street.

Aug. 31: The sheriff's department received assistance with a traffic complaint. A fire alarm that was activated on Willow Road was checked. Parkside Homes at 200 Willow Road reported the theft of two pieces of a pager system; the theft occurred between Aug. 21 and Aug. 30; the loss was estimated at $70. Assistance with an investigation was provided to Sedgwick County Sheriff's Department. A residence in the 300 block of North Ash Street was searched in connection with a recent burglary. A motorist received assistance at Adams and U.S.-56.

Sept. 1: Officers implemented a seat belt check lane at Grand and Jefferson streets in conjunction with the state's Bucks for Buckles program. Assistance was provided to the sheriff's department with a traffic complaint on U.S.-56. A commercial alarm that was activated was checked in the 800 block of East D Street. An individual was arrested for driving with a suspended driver's license and no insurance. A harassment complaint was filed in the 300 block of South Date Street.

Sept. 2: Two male juveniles were taken into custody and released to their parents following a report by ALCO of shoplifters in the store. A parking complaint was filed in the 100 block of North Jefferson Street. A dog complaint was made in the 200 block of South Adams Street. A suspicious vehicle was checked in the 400 block of North Ash Street.

Sept. 3: Officers received firearms training. A report was made of a disoriented male in the 600 block of South Ash Street.

Sept. 4: A harassment complaint was filed in the 700 block of South Washington Street. A dog complaint was filed in the 400 block of South Date Street.

Sept. 6: A subject was fingerprinted for employment purposes. SRS received assistance with an investigation. A 911 disconnect was reported in the 600 block of East C Street. A camper hook-up was provided in Memorial Park. A theft of $60 from a cash register was reported by McDonald's. EMS received assistance with a run in the 400 block of South Main Street. An anhydrous ammonia leak was reported at Hillsboro Industrial Park.

Sept. 6: SRS received assistance. A dog complaint was filed at Cedar and B streets. Three wallets were reported stolen from Hillsboro Family Aquatic Center during a special event; the loss was estimated at $126 and the case remains under investigation.

Thursday: Harvey County Sheriff's Department received assistance with locating a person who was wanted on warrants. Court services received assistance with an investigation. An individual was arrested in the 300 block of North Ash Street on Marion County warrants.

Friday: The sheriff's department received assistance with a civil process. Dog complaints were filed in the 400 block of South Cedar Street and the 100 block of North Madison Street. Two funeral escorts were provided. A 911 disconnect was reported in the 400 block of South Adams Street. Suspicious vehicles were reported in the 200 block of South Jefferson Street.
