Hospital auxiliary executive board conducts routine business

St. Luke Hospital Auxiliary executive board met at 10 a.m. July 25 in the clinic meeting room with 12 members in attendance.

Following the hospital auxiliary prayer, the secretary read the minutes of the previous meeting.

President Judy Reno presented a bill for engraving on a gift and it was approved for payment.

Jeremy Armstrong, CEO of St. Luke Hospital, said he and the staff were in the middle of the budget process.

The living center has full occupancy at this time and has a waiting list.

Beginning the first of August, the physical therapy department will be under the direction of Rehab Visions. A full-time physical therapist will be here at that time. She is from Peabody.

Dr. Fetch was here recently with his wife to visit the hospital and staff. He will begin doing procedures at St. Luke Hospital on Sept. 1. He will do procedures on Tuesday mornings and have clinic visits in the afternoon.

Linda Kannady reported the new non-invasive monitor was now in use.

Janet Herzet reported that Home Health Care needs had increased and that is keeping them busy. They are sharing staff members with the hospital.

Debbie Craig reported the long-term care unit is expecting a survey soon. It will be different from the one just completed. Craig said there is a notebook available so people can read the results of the recent survey.

The living center is on a waiting list to have new floor coverings installed at the entrance to the building. New chairs, purchased from the Millie Summervill memorial fund, were placed out front for residents to enjoy.

Two high school sophomores recently passed their CNA classes and will be working at the living center.

Penny Marler reported membership stands at 116.

Joyce Richmond reported the gift case took in $65 and had five inside hours.

Janice Case reported volunteer hours to be 544, with 422 hours outside and 122 inside.

Another person will be appointed to fill the third position on the nominating committee to take the place of Peggy Cather.

Joann Fitzpatrick has resigned as manager of the thrift shoppe. Joyce Richmond has agreed to take over duties as manager.

Janice Case has been calling people to work at the shoppe. At this time, 51 people have volunteered hours for working at the shoppe.

The next meeting of the auxiliary board will be Aug. 29.
