Hospital auxiliary hears update on new store

St. Luke Hospital Auxiliary met Thursday morning with 30 members present. Joyce Smith and Elora Robinson were hostesses.

President Judy Reno updated members about the opening of St. Luke Hospital Auxiliary Shoppe, which will open soon in the former Kraft Korner building on Main Street, Marion.

The auxiliary will ask for donations from the community to resale in the store. The project will help support the local hospital.

Questions about the shop should be addressed to Reno at 382-8441.

Jessica Bernhardt was the guest speaker. She gave an interesting presentation about her trip to New Orleans to help with the Hurricane Katrina Relief Mission. She was part of a group from Marion County who spent time in the New Orleans area to give much needed help.

New officers were announced for Unit II. Lavonne Hannaford will be chairman; co-vice chairmen are Janet Herzet and Mary Ann Conyers. Lenore Dieter will be the unit secretary.

The auxiliary announced open enrollment. Anyone interested in joining the group should ask any member for information or call Penelope Marler at 382-2703.

A coffee social was held Tuesday at St. Luke Living Center. The auxiliary hosts a social for the living center once a month and everyone is invited.
