HPD assist moving house through Hillsboro

Hillsboro Police Department reports conducting traffic control Nov. 6 while a house was moved through town. A report also was received that individuals were discharging fireworks in the 300 block of North Cedar. Officers later confiscated fireworks from juveniles.

Nov. 7: Officers provided a funeral escort. A driver was arrested for driving while license suspended. The K-9 Unit searched schools. Joy Downing, 319 North Ash, #6, reported being assaulted by another person living at her residence. Downing reported the person became angry when asked to move from the premises. Charges are pending. Police assisted the sheriff's department with cattle on the roadway. A motorist received assistance. Trent Elmquist reported being assaulted by a customer while working at Sonic. Elmquist reported a customer became angry over a personal check and began using foul language. The customer then threw food at Elmquist and left. The case is under investigation.

Tuesday: K-9 Unit search schools. A civil standby was held in the 300 block of North Ash. Civil process papers were served for the city. A welfare check was made in the 200 block of North Jefferson.

Wednesday: Checked suspicious activity in the 300 block of South Cedar and the 200 block of West D Street.

Thursday: Assisted ambulance in the 900 block of West Grand. A dog complaint in the 700 block of West Grand was received. Dog was taken to Hillsboro Animal Clinic. An individual was arrested on an outstanding warrant. A noise complaint was received in the 300 block of North Ash. Assisted Kansas Highway Patrol in search of a wanted person.

Friday: Assisted with fueling an airplane and assisted Marion Police Department with an investigation.

Saturday: Received a dog complaint in the 500 block of East D Street. Dog taken to Hillsboro Animal Clinic. Received traffic complaint in the 100 block of West A Street. A complaint of a prowler in the 100 block of North Jefferson was received. Officers noted a broken storm door window at 110 north Jefferson. Charges of consumption of alcohol by minor are pending against an individual found on the roof above 108 1/2 North Jefferson.
