Irene Kreutzman

Irene Kreutzman, 87, died Oct. 16, 2005, at Marion Manor.

Born May 8, 1918, at Lucas, she was the daughter of David and Mollie (Schwemmer) Herbel.

She grew up and attended school in the Lincolnville and Youngtown communities. The family later moved to Marion.

On Jan. 23, 1938, she married Ronald Lucas at Marion. He died in 1961.

In 1972, she married Frank Kreutzman.

She worked at Marion Hospital before she was married, and later worked at St. Luke Hospital. She was manager of the Peter Pan Store and worked at Wingert's IGA and Dave's IGA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; seven brothers; daughter, Delores; and husbands, Ronald and Frank.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Robert Schmidt of Marion and Darlene and Richard Siebert of Wichita; stepdaughter, Debra Kreutzman of Wichita; three sisters, Helen Mitchell of Burbank, Calif., Roberta Rein of Mitchell, Neb., and Esther Bastron of Scottsbluff, Neb.; two brothers, David Herbel Jr. of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Raymond Herbel of Scottsbluff, Neb.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Marion, with the Rev. Brett Huebner officiating.

Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.

Memorial funds have been established with the church or with Hospice Care of Kansas.
