Israel Jirak completes Ph.D

Israel Jirak graduated Dec. 16 from Colorado State University with a doctor of philosophy degree in atmospheric science.

Commencement exercises took place in Fort Collins, Colo.

Jirak currently is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Atmospheric Science at Colorado State University.

He and his wife, Hannah and son Landon, live in Fort Collins. Jirak is the son of Michael and Glenda Jirak of Glade and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Fike of Ramona and Margaret Jirak of Tampa.

A reception was held at the Jirak home. Those in attendance included his parents, Michael and Glenda Jirak of Glade, Iris and Sage Pauly of Wichita, Garry and Irene Horine and Kyle of Silverthorne, Colo., Jani Wood of Albuquerque, N.M.

David Kuhnhoff of Oakland, Calif., Ralph and Anne Kuhnoff of Yuma, Ariz., David Wood of Omaha, Neb., Carol Moye of Oberlin, Hester Wood and Danny Bundrock of Fort Collins, Colo., Dr. and Mrs. Morris Talbert, Jenny Thayer-Wood, and Toby Wood, all of Stockton.
