Jack Regnier

Marion businessman Jack E. Regnier, 74, died July 12, 2005, at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital, Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita.

Born Aug. 12, 1930, at Concordia, he was the son of Donald and Orris (Kocher) Regnier.

On Dec. 26, 1950, he married Marge Johnson at Concordia.

Jack owned and operated Marion Auto Supply. He was a tireless community leader, having served two terms as mayor and as a member of Marion City Commission.

He also was a member of Eastmoor United Methodist Church, serving as a willing volunteer in the church community.

Survivors include his wife, Marge of Marion; two sons, Mike and Doug Regnier, both of Marion; two daughters, Pat Boggs of Winfield and Kathy VanZant of Braman, Okla.; brother, Warren Regnier of Concordia; four sisters, Willadean Thoman of Kansas City, Joan Rose of Lurey, Thelma Locke of Apollo Beach, Fla., and Donna Poss of Inverness, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Eastmoor United Methodist Church, Marion, with the Revs. John Goering, Gerry Sharp, and Rick Branson officiating.

Laura Williams was organist. Greg Carlson sang "How Great Thou Art."

Casket bearers were Jack Thoman, Butch Thoman, Bobby Rose, Chris Regnier, Craig Regnier, and Brad Thoman.

Honorary casket bearers were Eugene Christensen, Charles Heerey, Gary Carlson, J.B. Miesse, and Jim Fruechting.

Burial was in Marion Cemetery.

Memorial funds have been established with Eastmoor United Methodist Church, St. Luke Hospital, or Liberty Park, Marion.
