James Sartorius
James R. Sartorius, 77, died June 8, 2008, at Fairfax, Va.
Born in Kansas City, Mo., he was the son of William Sartorius and Lucille Potter.
He attended Kansas State University, Manhattan, where he met his future wife, Betty Williams.
He served as a foreign service officer and traveled extensively throughout the world including visits with family and friends in Marion. In the 1970s, he served at the Department of State at Washington, D.C., and he and his family moved to Fairfax, Va.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Sartorius.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; children, Steven Sartorius of Summit, N.J., Christopher Sartorius of Sterling, Va., and Sally Hardy of Hotchkiss, Colo.; and two grandchildren.
