Jeremy Kristek earns Eagle badge at scout camp

Marion Boy Scouts Troop held a camp in Marion, July 16-22.

Six badges were awarded over a week's time. Jeremy Kristek, son of Ron and Anna Kristek of Lincolnville, received the Eagle badge, the highest rank attainable.

As an Eagle Scout, Kristek has earned 21 merit badges, served as a leader, and planned and carried out a service project.

"Eagle Scouts are expected to set an example for other Scouts and to become the leaders in life that they have demonstrated themselves to be in Scouting," according to an Internet site.

Kristek graduated from Centre High School this spring. He plans to attend Hutchinson Community College this fall and major in ag business.
