John N. Daly Jr.

The Reverend John N. Daly Jr., 83, died Sept. 13, 2005, at Salina.

Born May 27, 1922, at Cherryvale, he was the son of John N. and Jennie Daly Sr.

He graduated from Pratt High School and was a veteran of World War II.

On Feb. 11, 1943, he married Naomi Wagner at Pratt.

Following graduation from Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina in 1967, and St. Paul's Seminary in Kansas City, he was ordained as a minister in the United Methodist church in 1971.

He served the Kansas West Conference in Solomon, Niles, Marion, Salina, Burdett, Rozell, and LaCrosse before retiring in 1988. From 1993-98 he served as chaplain for Hospice of Salina.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marilyn Carr; and brother, Kenneth Daly.

Survivors include his wife, Naomi of Salina; two daughters, Kim Fair of Brookville and Jill Millerskow of Mulvane; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Friday afternoon at First United Methodist Church, Salina, with the Rev. Troy Bowers officiating.

A memorial fund has been established with Hospice of Salina.
