John Smith
John L. Smith, 93, died July 14, 2004, at Salina Regional Medical Center.
Born May 10, 1911, at Herington, he was the son of Betrum and Roseanna (McMannus) Smith.
He was a retired machinist for the Rock Island Railroad, Herington, and a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Herington.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline, in 1996; two brothers, Emery Smith and Carl Smith; two sisters, Anna Dixon and Etta Lehman; and his parents.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at St. John's Catholic Church, Herington, with the Rev. Mark Wesely officiating.
Burial was in St. Phillip's Catholic Cemetery, Hope.
A memorial fund has been established with the church.
