Joyce Erickson

Joyce B. Erickson, 67, of Pilsen, died July 9, 2006, at St. Luke Hospital, Marion.

Born May 30, 1939, at Akron, Colo., she was the daughter of Charles and Philomene (Mehring) Hottinger.

On Aug. 1, 1959, she married Jess Erickson at Akron, Colo. The couple lived in Salina until 1981, when they moved to Topeka. In 1987, they moved to Lincolnville, and in 1994, moved to Pilsen.

She was a bookkeeper and worked for Marion County Home Care Services. She was a member of St. Ann's Altar Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Jess of Pilsen; two sons, Robert Erickson of Jasper, Texas, and Tim Erickson of Rapid City, S.D.; five daughters, Deborah Jabara and Pam Kelly, both of Wichita, Teresa Cook of Sturgis, S.D., Kim Downey of Sedgwick, and Amy Tevis of Andale; two brothers, Ray Hottinger of Seattle, Wash., and Gene Hottinger of Akron, Colo.; three sisters, Mary Ann Basler and Virginia Hottinger, both of Akron, Colo., and Pat Dever of Longmont, Colo.; and 20 grandchildren.

The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. John Nep. Church, Pilsen.

The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John Nep. Church, Pilsen, with Father Hien Nguyen as celebrant.

Memorial funds have been established with St. Ann's Altar Society or the Father Kapaun Guild.
