Junior Warrior Wrestlers qualify for state

Six wrestlers from the Marion Junior Warrior Club each took third place Saturday at the USA Kids Wrestling district competition in Junction City. The top four in each weight class advanced to the state tournament Saturday at the Expo Center in Topeka. Those who will be competing in Topeka are: Remington Putter, eight-and-under, 76 pounds, and Colton Jeffrey, 12-and-under, 60 pounds, Colton Johnson, 12-and-under, 140 pounds; Kyle Palic, 10-and-under, 110 pounds; Zac Lewman, 10-and-under, 120 pounds; and Dillon Wildin, 14-and-under, 130 pounds.

Those participating but not qualifying for state were Cody Shipman, Brayden Putter, Cody Wildin, Brooks Hodges, Cole Lewman, and Brody Carroll.

Marion Junior Warrior wrestler Tyler Palic grappled his way to the top Saturday, taking first place in the 67-pound weight class of the six-and-under group at the district championship in Junction City. The six-and-under class does not have a state or national tournament.
