JV volleyball takes two of three

Marion High School junior varsity volleyball team had a successful opening tournament Sept. 7.

The Warriors hosted a quad with Nickerson, Sterling, and Wichita Collegiate.

After dropping the first match, 2-0 to Nickerson, Marion won the next two.

Game one with Sterling was close, with Marion taking the victory, 27-25. The Warriors dominated after that, winning the next game 25-13, and going on to defeat Collegiate, 25-5 and 25-3.

Sophomore setter Erin Richmond made good on 32 of her 36 sets in leading the Warrior charge. Erica Geis and Morgan Cady were 13 of 17 setting.

Kari Tajchman was perfect with her serves, landing all 54 of them in play. Jandee Sharp also landed all 12 of her serves.

Erin Carr connected on 29 of 30 hitting attempts.
