Kathryn Magathan
Kathryn (Katy) J. Magathan, 83, of Herington, died Jan. 12, 2008.
Born Aug. 15, 1924, at Ramona, she was the daughter of David and Caroline (Riffel) Hanschu Sr.
She graduated from Ramona High School in 1942.
On Dec. 12, 1943, she married John Vernon Magathan Jr., at Lost Springs. He died in 2005.
She also was preceded in death by five brothers, David Jr., Clinton, Ruben, Lawrence (Dick), and an infant brother, Benny; and her parents.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Magathan of Marion, Bobby Magathan of Herington, and Dan Magathan of Wichita; daughter, Debbie Goodyear of Herington; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Herington United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roy Nelson and the Rev. Shawn Baird officiating.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established with the Alzheimer's Association.
