Konarik, Howell are married

Marie Konarik and Christopher Howell were married at 7:30 p.m. March 13 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Manhattan.

Parents of the couple are Robert and Karen Konarik of Marion and Mike and Glenda Conroy of Denver, Colo., and Jerry and Angie Howell of Dallas, Texas.

Father Joseph Popelka officiated at the double ring ceremony.

Ramona Kramer of Manhattan was the organist.

The bride's aunt, Mary Griffith of Marion was the soloist.

John Griffith of Marion, the bride's uncle, was the lector.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a white strapless satin gown designed by Cassini. The bodice and hem were heavily beaded and embroidered with Swarovski crystals and bugle beads. The full skirt fell into a chapel-length train which also was accented with embroidery. She wore a tiara and fingertip-length veil accented with crystal beads around the hem and long, white beaded gloves.

She carried a round bouquet of deep red roses, white stock, and leafy greenery.

Renee Appleby of Manhattan was the maid of honor. She wore a black tea-length dress and carried a miniature version of the bride's bouquet.

Hector Ramos of Manhattan served his friend as best man. Andre Rich of Fort Riley was the couple's ring bearer.

Guests were seated by friends of the couple, Adrian Rich and Joseph Lewis, both of Fort Riley, and the bride's cousin, Bill Griffith of Hutchinson.

A reception was held at the couple's home in Manhattan.

The bride's cousin, Michelle Griffith of Emporia was the reception attendant.

Grace and Maggie Vinduska of Marion passed out bubbles.

The bride is a graduate of Marion High School and Kansas State University, Manhattan.

Her husband is a graduate of Lubbock Cooper High School and is in the U.S. Army.
