KVC benefit is Saturday at Central Park
The third annual KVC Motorcycle Ride for Kids will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Central Park, Marion.
Sponsored by Custom Trucking of Salina, a poker run will begin at 9 a.m. with the last motorcycle out at 11 a.m.
Poker run prizes will be $100 for first, a KVC quilt made by Custom Threads for second, and a Harley Davidson cooler bag with AM/FM radio for third.
A barbecue lunch will be served beginning at 11 a.m. and drawings for prizes at 2 p.m.
For $25, participants may participate in the poker run, and receive a meal and embroidered patch.
An extra poker hand or meal will be $5 each. A meal for those under 12 years of age will be $2.50.
Prizes include: $500 cash; copper Kansas seal, ($400 value) donated by Trace of Copper, Marion; Kansas City Royals weekend getaway, tickets and overnight stay ($250 value); leather fringe jacket ($295 value), donated by City Cycle of Junction City; leather jacket ($185 value), donated by Brooks Yamaha of Manhattan; 19-inch Panasonic color TV with DVD/VCR ($500 value); 20-hour motorcycle class at Butler Community College ($180 value), donated by Motorcycle Specialists of Wichita.
Kansas Speedway gift package; Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun tickets; four-pack of Motorola two-way pagers ($70 value), donated by Tri-County Telephone; leather vest ($75 value), donated by Hog Heaven of Emporia; rechargeable spotlight ($30 value), donated by Sam's of Salina, and dinner for two at Grand Central Hotel of Cottonwood Falls ($50 value); and a Sentry fire safe/document chest.
Tickets are $10 each and available at Marion Chamber of Commerce, 203 N. Third, Marion; Klose and Kozy, 117 S. Main, Hillsboro; and from foster parents Tammy Whiteside, (620) 983-2074 and Mary Johnson, (620) 983-2693, Peabody.
Tickets also will be available Saturday in the park. Ticket holders need not be present to win.
