Leland Seifert

Leland W. Seifert, 87, died June 25, 2008, at Golden Living Center, Marion.

Born Dec. 13, 1920, at Marion, he was the son of Karl and Lydia (Kleiber) Seifert.

On May 11, 1945, he married Hilda Domke.

He farmed around Marion until 1972, then moved to Missouri and became a salesman until starting Seifert Construction Company, which later became L&C Construction Inc. In 1994, he returned to farming in Marion County.

He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth.

Survivors include three sons, Chuck and his wife Gloria of Marion, Don of Coollidge, Ariz., and Dean and his wife Sheila of Miles City, Mont.; sister, Helen Post of Eugene, Ore.; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Tuesday afternoon at Strassburg Baptist Church, Marion. Burial was in Strassburg Cemetery.

Memorial funds have been established with Harry Hynes Hospice or Strassburg Baptist Church building fund.
