Leonard Klenda

Leonard Klenda, 87, died Sept. 15, 2007, at Hillsboro Community Medical Center Long Term Care Unit, Hillsboro.

The son of Frank and Adolphine (Tajchman) Klenda, he was born Oct. 27, 1919, near Tampa.

He was a retired farmer/stockman and lifelong resident of Lincolnville.

On Nov. 8, 1950, he married Theresa Polok at Hope.

He was a member of Holy Family Parish, St. John Nep. Catholic Church, Pilsen, and the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys, who died in 1946; son, Timothy; infant daughter, Isabel; four brothers, Clement, Harvey, Antone, and Louis Klenda; and three sisters, Filomena Kapaun, Frances Holub, and Lillian Sklenar.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa Klenda of Lincolnville; four sons, Vincent Klenda of Salina and Dennis, Val, and Steve Klenda, all of Lincolnville; two daughters, Monica Leihy of Hillsboro and Frances Mueller of Tampa; 28 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The rosary was recited Tuesday evening at St. John Nep. Catholic Church, Holy Family Parish, Pilsen.

Funeral Mass was said this morning (Wednesday) at the church with Fr. Hien Nguyen and Fr. Mark Wesely officiating.

Burial was in Pilsen Cemetery.

Memorial funds have been established with Hillsboro Community Medical Center Long Term Care Unit or Tampa Ambulance Service.
