Library will participate in state book program

The book chosen for the premiere of the Kansas One Book, One State Program "Kansas Reads . . . to Preschoolers" is "No Matter What," written and illustrated by Debi Gliori.

The project of the Kansas State Library was created to highlight the importance of reading to children and promote the library as a resource of reading material.

The goal is to have every Kansas child between the ages of 0-5 years be read to during National Children's Book Weed, Nov. 14-19.

Marion City Library will promote this program by having staff visit local licensed day-care centers and preschools, and read the book "No Matter What" to the children.

Free books will be given each day to the first five families who visit the library during National Children's Book Week. A limited supply of book bags also will be given to children.

Register for a drawing to receive the book "No Matter What."

A special story-time session will be held for children ages 3-6 from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Nov. 18 at the library.
