Lincolnville in good shape, says Mayor Schneider

Several weeks ago, it was reported the budget was tight at Lincolnville. A closer look at the figures revealed the city is not as bad off as originally thought.

Mayor David Schneider said expenses were "way down" in July, and the city will be all right until the end of the year, when new money will be received.

County has

15 SRS Access Points

With the cooperation of numerous community partners, the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services has established more than 940 Access Points throughout the state. At the present time, there are 15 Access Points in Marion County, three in Marion, two in Hillsboro, and one each in Burns, Durham, Florence, Goessel, Lehigh, Lincolnville, Lost Springs, Peabody, Ramona, and Tampa.

Access Point sites have been developed to provide Kansans the opportunity to increase access to, and learn more about SRS services which include cash/employment assistance; child/adult abuse and neglect; child care; child support; employment help for persons with disabilities; food assistance; health care coverage; long-term care options; and parenting challenges.

Access Points provide customers convenient access to services in non-traditional locations such as public libraries, post offices, schools, health departments, senior centers, nursing homes, homeless shelters, social service agencies, and local government offices. Some sites display general brochures and applications, while others also provide computer and Internet access, use of telephones, fax machines, and notary services.

For more information about services or locations of the nearest SRS Access Point site, call toll free 1-888-369-4777, or on the Internet, www.srskansas.org.
