Lincolnville teen killed in two-vehicle accident

Three others injured

Lance Selznick, 19, Lincolnville, was killed Jan. 9 in a two-vehicle accident involving four teen-agers. All were students at Centre High School.

The accident occurred at 4 p.m. in Morris County along a curve one mile southwest of Burdick at 2800 Road and CC Ave.

Andy Carlson, 17, Burdick, driver of a 1992 Dodge pickup truck, told Morris County Sheriff's Sergeant Mike Seadeek he was driving north on 2800 Road and met a second vehicle coming around the corner from the east. Carlson said he was unable to avoid a collision.

Selznick was the driver of the second vehicle, a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier. Passengers in the vehicle were Brandon Albrecht, 17, and Stephen Kaiser, 16, both of Lincolnville.

Selznick was transported by Dickinson County EMS to Herington Municipal Hospital, and from there was transported by Life Star to Via Christi St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, where he died.

Kaiser reportedly sustained serious injuries and was transported by Life Star helicopter to Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was reported in fair condition Tuesday.

Albrecht sustained minor injuries and was transported by Morris County EMS to St. Luke Hospital in Marion. He has been released.

Carlson, the only one of the four who was wearing a seat belt, sustained possible injuries, but the sheriff's report indicated he was not transported.

Selznick was the son of Dan and Karen Selznick of Lincolnville. Funeral services were held Sunday at Centre High School, where he was a senior.

Carlson, also a senior, is the son of Glenn and Sandy Carlson of Burdick. Albrecht, a junior, is the son of Troy and Christina Peterson, and Kaiser, a sophomore, is the son of David and Dawn Kaiser, all of Lincolnville.
