Living center: Polkas, waltzes entertain

By GLADYS MANN

We were surprised July 24 when Gene Vinduska showed up in the late afternoon with his accordion. His son, Mark, appeared with his drum set and played polka and waltz music. Everyone enjoyed the music. It made your feet really dance and brought back fond memories of youth.

Sunday church service was conducted by the Rev. Carl Helm and women of Marion Christian Church.

Mini-van outings were Monday morning. That afternoon Ellen Darrow played a collection of old songs.

We were saddened to hear two more residents, Lula Holt and Glenn Alexander, had died. We send our sympathy to both families.

A group of people came to entertain Tuesday morning. They did a variety of things. Jordan Erpelding and Mariah and Brittany sang a song. They were from Muscotah. Keith Rivera from Defiance, Ohio, did karate. Kevin Clark, also from Defiance, Ohio, played piano. Khrista Branson's sisters, Anita Galbreath and Jan Erpelding, each played piano and sang. Kirsten Steiner also sang. It was a surprise program, but enjoyable.

Happy Hustlers 4-H Club showed exhibits from the county fair. They showed artistic pictures they had framed. The girls modeled clothes they had made, and one boy showed a torpedo. It's wonderful what the kids can make.

Prayer group was held with Dick Pracht. He will be on vacation for two weeks. We will miss him.

A large gathering attended Resident Council. Many things were discussed. Then the Marion County Record was read by Khrista Branson. Later, dominoes and checkers were played.

Khrista held the usual cookie baking Friday morning. The afternoon was spent playing bingo with Irma Benda calling the numbers.

Coffee and cookie hour was Saturday morning. During the afternoon we watched movies
