Fred and Marguerite Utech hosted a belated family Christmas celebration Saturday. Those attending were Garland and Dianna Utech and Lance Utech and Alexandria and friend of Amsterdam, Mo., Amy Utech of Kansas City, Mo., Jayson and Jan Hanschu, Jakob, Jorge, and Jaxxon of Hillsboro, Jeff and Jennifer Braden and Joshua of Windom, Neil and Jolene Albrecht, Kallie and Morgan of Salina, and Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu.

Jon and Lynette McLean, Cade, Maggie, and Josie of Goodland and Jason and Carla Hajek and Cooper of Hugoton came Dec. 22 to the home of Paul and Raelene Hajek. They left Christmas Day for their homes. Due to the snowstorm out west, Lynette McLean, Cade, Maggie, and Josie and Jason, Carla, and Cooper flew to Wichita Dec. 26. Paul and Raelene Hajek drove to Wichita to pick them up. All of them went to Raelene's nephew, Brett Regnoche's wedding Dec. 29. The McLeans and Jason Hajeks left for their homes Dec. 31.

Larry Rudolph visited Tuesday night with Evelyn Strecker after feeding the cattle and checking batteries for the electric fence.

Frances Stuchlik's Jan. 7 visitors were Mike and Candee Toade of Wichita and Monty Stuchlik. At noon, Frances Stuchlik, Mike and Candee, and Ross and Megan Stuchlik were dinner guests of Monty and Sarah Stuchlik. They were celebrating Candee's birthday.

Junior Hanschu brought his news to my house this Wednesday morning. He was taking a couple cows to the Herington sale. I could see other cattle trailers heading east for the sale.

Westar Energy was in my yard Jan. 5 replacing the pole and meter. They added a breaker and new wiring from house to pole. A fuse in my house was always going out and I had no lights. It was interesting to watch the four light men pull out the pole and set in the new one and replace the wire.

Laura Drebot and Clark Strecker were here Jan. 7 to put in a breaker in the house and do some wiring. The lights are so much brighter. I feel I am lucky to have an electrician in my family. They were my supper guests.

Frances Stuchlik attended Harry Nelson's funeral Monday at Holy Family Parish, Marion. Harry was 90 years old.

I talked to my sister, Victoria in Shelby, Mont., Friday. She said it was a beautiful day, but they had a lot of ice during the holidays. She informed me our cousin, Arnold Bezdek of Billings, Mont., was quite ill. His wife, Ruth was taking care of him at home.
