So sorry to hear of the death of Bill Urbanek of Newton. His funeral was Thursday in Newton. He was 83 years old. Bill was a good handyman when he lived near Pilsen.

Micky Black of Herington visited his uncle, Larry Rudolph, Feb. 3.

Ramona and Don Beisel of Tampa visited their mother, Frances Stuchlik, Sunday afternoon.

Kelby and Rita Schawe of Wichita spent the weekend with her parents, Alex and Jean Stuchlik.

On Monday and Tuesday afternoon, I noticed a possum under my maple tree. I walked right next to him Tuesday afternoon. If I would have bent over I could have touched his little red nose. He likes to eat the seed pods that fall from the tree.

Monty and Sarah Stuchlik and son Ross of Tampa visited Frances Stuchlik during the week.

Larry Rudolph helped Jess Brunner Feb. 6 put in a hot water heater in their house.

Frances Stuchlik sounded so happy this past Wednesday morning. She was a great-grandma Feb. 2, Groundhog's Day. Grandchildren Damien and Sonya Carrillo of Wichita had a baby boy who weighed 8 pounds 1 1/2 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. They named him John Paul. Grandparents are Marilyn Stuchlik and Mr. and Mrs. Carrillo of Wichita.

Since the ice and snow melted some, the yards and corrals are really muddy. Alex Stuchlik said it was 19 degrees this morning.

Larry Rudolph fed my cattle this morning. He has been getting my groceries since I can't get out of my yard. I have been eating peaches, tomatoes, peas, and apples I canned last year.

Selma Ingram visited Jane Miller this past week.

I can see farmers are taking cattle to the sale barn in Herington today, Feb. 8.
