A number of fire wagons gathered March 31 at the former Fred Wirtz home across the street north of Al's Café and burned the house down. The property at one time was known as the Vaughn home.

I picked up Selma Ingram March 30 and we went to Herington to do some washing and shopping.

Jakob, Jorge, and Jaxxon Hanschu of Hillsboro spent the weekend with grandparents, Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu. Their parents were in Topeka.

Clark Strecker of Rose Hill was my Sunday dinner guest. He fixed my lawn mower and mowed my lawn.

Oaklan and Tia Jenkins were March 31 supper and overnight guests of Selma Ingram.

I didn't like to hear the weather report. With temperatures from 30 degrees and below for several mornings, that tells me my apricots and peaches will freeze. I covered my potatoes that were up. Will the alfalfa and wheat freeze, too?

Connie Jenkins helped Karen Walsh with some work Tuesday after going to Lincolnville Community Building to vote.

Laura Drebot of Rose Hill stopped in to get her boat Monday morning. She spent the weekend visiting her mother in Omaha, Neb., and was en route to Rose Hill. We had a nice visit.

Frances Stuchlik accompanied her daughters, Ramona Beisel and Ruby Scharping to Edmund, Okla., March 23. They stayed overnight with Mark and Roberta Stuchlik. Mark took the three women to the Oklahoma City airport Saturday morning. They flew to Phoenix, Ariz. Leonard and Becky Miller, Cove Creek, Ariz., picked them up at the airport. While they visited Leonard and Becky they visited their children, Joe and Andrea Gregory, Tempe, Ariz., Jason and Kathy Rutka and Eliana, Gilbert, Ariz., and John Miller, Tucson, Ariz. They also went shopping and sightseeing. They returned to Edmund, Okla., March 31, stayed overnight, and got home April 1.

Some of my cattle got out of the pasture Monday morning. Larry Rudolph came to my rescue. He had to fix some electric fence the deer broke. That morning, Larry and I noticed bugs were in my alfalfa. I got it sprayed this morning (Wednesday).

Kenneth Reznicek of Burlington visited his mother, Irma Reznicek, at St. Luke Living Center, Marion, March 29. Charles and Mary Loewen of Hillsboro were March 31 visitors of Irma's.

Bob Reznicek accompanied John and Helen Reznicek of Marion to Al's Café for supper Thursday evening.

Carol Makovec picked up her mom, Irma Reznicek at St. Luke Living Center, and they attended church services at St. Mark Catholic Church in Marion.

So sorry to hear that Maxine Love died. Her rosary and funeral was today (Wednesday) at Pilsen. Burial was at Pilsen Cemetery.
