Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu drove to Hillsboro Saturday morning to watch their grandsons, Jakob and Jorge Hanschu play soccer at Hillsboro sports field.

Bob Reznicek was a Saturday night supper guest of Bob and Carol Makovec.

Clark Strecker of Rose Hill spent Sunday and Monday with Evelyn Strecker. We had a fish dinner. He mowed some of my lawn till he had a front flat tire on the mower.

Bob and Carol Makovec picked up Irma Reznicek April 22 at St. Luke Living Center, Marion, and they attended church at St. Mark Catholic Church. The Makovecs took their mother home with them. Irma was a dinner guest. Additional dinner guests were Kristin Makovec, Andrew and Alexia of Beale Air Force Base, Calif., Colleen Klug, Nicole and Alison, Herington, and Bob Reznicek, Carol took her mother back to St. Luke Living center in the evening.

Fred and Marguerite Utech accompanied Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu to a Mennonite church south of McPherson April 23 where the Tree House preschool stuents were having a spring program. Their grandson, Joshua Braden, four years old, was in the program. His parents are Jeff and Jennifer Braden of Windom.

My son, Douglas said after the freezes of tree leaves, grasses, flowers, alfalfa, wheat, and other vegetation and snow storms in April, it seems more like fall than spring. Alex Stuchlik said his potatoes are coming up. Something was digging out and eating his onions. After setting up a trap, he caught a coon he figures was the one that liked his onions. My peas and radishes are coming up. I bought more potatoes to plant. The first ones froze. The birds are coming back.

Dan and Melissa Stuchlik and Allie hosted a barbecue supper Sunday in honor of Tanner's third birthday. Guests were great-grandmother, Frances Stuchlik, Monty and Sarah Stuchlik, Mike and Candee Toade, Ross and Megan Stuchlik and Leona Kleiber, Terry and Cindy Vinduska, Shane and Jennifer Svitak and family, Damien Svitak, Kelly and Heather Steiner and Kennedy, Joe and Wanda and family. Tanner blew out the candles on the train birthday cake. After cake and ice cream was served, Tanner opened gifts.

Micky Black of Herington visited Larry Rudolph April 19.

Gregory Stenzel and Nikki were April 22 dinner guests of Betty Stenzel.

Sharyn Mueller of Olathe visited her mother, Frances Hanschu this past weekend to help her celebrate her 84th birthday, which was April 23.
