Farmers are out combining wheat. Yield and test are good. We received much needed rain Saturday night.

Warren Fike brought his guests, Mike Fike and a friend from Washington, and Verle Bowers from Herington Wednesday afternoon to visit my place. Mike's father was born in my granary in 1903. His grandfather, Joe Fike, owned this property at that time. He sold it to my uncle, John Pospisil, when the Fikes moved to Canada in 1903. Uncle John and Josephine Pospisil lived in the granary while Uncle John built the house I live in. Verle Bowers is 94 years old. His mother was a Fike.

Mary Loewen of Hillsboro spent Friday afternoon with her mother, Irma Reznicek.

Alex and Jean Stuchlik drove to Wamego Saturday to attend the Watts family reunion at the senior center.

Larry Rudolph and I went to Herington Thursday afternoon to shop, and I had a checkup at the doctor's office.

Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu went Saturday afternoon to the wedding of Melissa Ann Stimac and Nolan Brunner, a son of Kent and Jean Brunner, at St. John Catholic Church at Herington. After the wedding they picked up Erich Utech at the Lutheran nursing home and went to the Herington community building for the reception. After the reception they took Erich back to the Lutheran home and returned to the community building for the dance.

Selma Ingram visited Friday morning with me. She brought me some flower plants.

Ida Benda of Madera, Calif., and her son Scott of Idaho visited Friday afternoon with me. Ida flew in May 29 to visit her sister, Geraldine, at Topeka.

Mervin and Leona Deines attended the Melissa Ann Stimac and Nolan Brunner wedding. They also went to the reception and dance.

Visitors of Irma and Bob Reznicek Sunday afternoon were John and Helen Reznicek of Marion; Carol Makovec; Rose Gleason, Kevin and Mary Ann Steinbrock, and Trevor, Jordan, and Brian Gleason, all of Wichita; and Ron and Tena Gleason and Rochelle and James of Sermon, Texas.

Mervin and Leona Deines attended the vacation Bible school program and barbecue Sunday afternoon at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lincolnville. Their grandchildren, Shelby and Justin Deines, children of Jeff Deines, and Makenzie and Dylan Deines, children of Terry Deines, were students of the one-week Bible school. Jessica Deines, daughter of Jeff and Gayla Deines, was one of the teachers.

Clark Strecker of Rose Hill brought a riding mower Saturday morning and mowed my yard. He also did some weed-eating. Clark had dinner with me.

Alex and Jean Stuchlik drove to Goddard Sunday afternoon where they danced the polka at the Caprice Ballroom.

Kenneth Reznicek of Burlington is helping Bob Reznicek Monday afternoon and Tuesday with wheat harvest.
