Douglas Strecker, Hesston, was my Thursday evening supper guest. He also came Saturday morning to haul some of the large bales of brome grass to my yard. After we had dinner, Larry Rudolph came to help Douglas haul the rest of the bales. Both were my catfish supper guests.

Gary and Judy Neuschafer's son, Doug Neuschafer of Lindsborg and Michelle Buccigrossi of Salina were married Saturday afternoon at Trinity Lutheran Church at Salina. The reception and dance were held at Stevens Center at St. John Military School, Salina. Those who attended the wedding, reception, and dance were Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu, Jayson and Jan Hanschu, Jakob, Jorge, and Jaxxon of Hillsboro, Jeff and Jennifer Braden and Joshua of Windom, and Neil and Jolene Albrecht, Kellie Jo and Morgan of Salina. Kellie Jo was the flower girl for the wedding.

Clark Strecker of Rose Hill was my Friday dinner guest. He came to mow the yard. The mower would not work, so he and I went to Herington to buy a battery and did grocery shopping. Clark said he was picking ripe grape tomatoes from his garden.

Michael Black, North Carolina, call me Friday evening. He called to let me know he was leaving for Japan for a year. He has been in the U.S. Marine Corps for 19 years. Recently he arrived at his home after serving in Iraq for several months. Michael is the son of the late Joan (Benda) Black.

Don and Ramona Beisel, Tampa, visited Saturday afternoon with mom, Frances Stuchlik.

Alex and Jean Stuchlik attended the baptism Sunday of Tanner Eugene Stuchlik, son of Don and Melissa Stuchlik, Wichita, at St. John Nep. Catholic Church. Sponsors were Ross Stuchlik and Jill Vinduska. Father Dick Stuchlik performed the baptism.

Ruby Scharping, Wichita, arrived Sunday morning at her mother's, Frances Stuchlik, home. They went to church service at St. John Catholic Church, Herington, and ate out. In the afternoon they attended the baptism of Tanner Eugene Stuchlik.

Mervin Deines said he didn't have any news to report at this time. He, like other farmers, are waiting for warmer and dryer weather so they can finish combining the wheat. There have been reports of combines getting stuck in the fields and breaking down.

Jeff and Julie Scharping and kids of Wichita visited Sunday afternoon with Frances Stuchlik and mother, Ruby Scharping before attending the baptism of Tanner Stuchlik.

I received a call Sunday morning from cousin Shirley Phye of Canon City, Colo. She and her husband Elton were checking up on me. She said the west half of Colorado is really dry, needs moisture.

Lori Torline, Jennifer, Megan, Carolyn, and Matthew of Derby visited Friday with Irma Reznicek. They attended a bridal shower in honor of Dianne Jost at Valley United Methodist Church, Marion. Hosts for the shower were Helen Reznicek of Marion, Carol Makovec, and Lori Torline of Derby.

John Reznicek and Bob Makovec helped Bob Reznicek this past week with harvest.

Tom Reznicek, Lawrence, helped Bob Reznicek Saturday with harvest. In the evening, Bob, Tom, and Irma Reznicek went to Jimmy and Rosalee Rudolph's 40th wedding anniversary celebration at Pilsen Community Center.

Bob Reznicek enjoyed Sunday dinner with Bob and Carol Makovec at the Ramona Café.

Irma Reznicek spent Monday at the home of Charles and Mary Loewen of rural Hillsboro.

The Pilsen area had two inches of rain Sunday afternoon, reported Alex Stuchlik.
