Jeff and Jennifer Braden, Windom, hosted a birthday party Saturday afternoon for their son, Joshua, who became 2 years old. Guests were great-grandparents, Fred and Marguerite Utech; grandparents, Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu; Jayson and Jan Hanschu, Jakob, Jorge, Jaxxon, Hillsboro; Neil and Jolene Albrecht, Kallie Jo and Morgan, Salina; Gary and Kathy Braden, Wichita; and friends. Josh was excited to open his gifts.

Dollye Novak, Leona Hajek, and Connie Alvarez served on the election board Tuesday at Lost Springs Elementary School.

Mervin and Leona Deines attended the 60th wedding anniversary open house and reception Sunday afternoon in honor of Harlow and Edith (Albright) Warneke at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Marion.

My son, Clark Strecker of Rose Hill, found me Wednesday morning in my garden digging potatoes. He came to mow and weed eat my lawn. He was my dinner guest.

Hallie Novak visited me Wednesday afternoon. She is our Lost Springs American Legion Auxiliary treasurer. She was checking on current events of district, department, and national levels I mailed to her.

That same day Dollye Novak, our chaplain and membership chairman of Lost Springs American Legion Auxiliary visited me. I showed her the large potatoes I dug from my garden. We also talked about current events of auxiliary and membership.

I talked to Joe and Rosie Zinn. They told me that Patricia Zinn is living at Bethesda Nursing Home in Goessel. I bet she would like to hear from her friends.

Bill and Conna Stuchlik and Teresa of Roger, Ark., visited his mother, Frances Stuchlik, from Saturday to Monday afternoon. Their daughter, Teresa, graduated Friday from University of Central, Conway, Ark., with a master's degree in science and dietetics.

As I was returning to my house Thursday afternoon after hanging clothes on the line, I heard someone say, "Evelyn." It was Junior Hanschu. A front wheel of his tractor broke down and he needed a ride home which is one and three-fourth miles from my place. He was hauling large bales of hay from a hay field across the road from my place. I gave him a ride to his home.

Frances Stuchlik and her guests, Bill and Conna Stuchlik and Teresa of Roger, Ark.; Don and Ramona Beisel, Tampa; Tom and Carol Stuchlik and Brandon, Berryton; Terry and Grace Stuchlik, Katie and Peter, Emporia; Ruby Sharping and Jeff and Julie Sharping and family, Wichita; Monty and Sarah Stuchlik and Ross; and Kenny and Melinda Stuchlik and kids, Towanda had a picnic dinner Sunday at Herington park.

Sylvia Bezdek visited Irma Reznicek Wednesday morning.

Bob and Irma Reznicek attended Mass Sunday at the Pilsen Catholic church and the open house at St. Mark's Activity Center in Marion in honor of Mr. and Mrs. George Waner's 50th wedding anniversary. Tom Reznicek, Lawrence, also attended. He was the ring bearer at their wedding.

Larry Rudolph called on me to check the battery of the electric fence and also talked about baling the alfalfa.

Bob and Irma Reznicek drove to rural Hillsboro Sunday evening to visit with Charles and Mary Loewen. Charles is at home recovering from surgery.
