I drove to Marion Oct. 25 to get the tags for my cars. I then drove to Hillsboro and did some Christmas shopping.

Bob and Irma Reznicek went to Marion Tuesday to take care of some business. At noon, Helen Reznicek, Carol Makovec, and Darren Makovec met them at Stone City for dinner.

Monty and Ross Stuchlik were here Wednesday morning to take a calf that had gotten away the week before to market.

Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu took their guests, Jeff and Jennifer Braden and son, Joshua of Windom and Fred and Marguerite Utech to Al's Café Friday evening for supper.

Angie Stika of Lincolnville took her children Micayla, Alex, and Miranda to Irma and Bob Reznicek's home for trick-or-treating.

Mervin Deines and his brother, Weldon Deines, of Herington went to Manhattan Saturday to watch Texas Tech and Kansas State University play football. Kansas State lost.

Joyce Rohloff visited Friday morning with me. Her son is getting married Nov. 13.

Darren Hajek, Salina, visited his parents, Ronnie and Leona Hajek and brother Trent this past weekend.

The grandchildren of Mervin and Leona Deines knocked on their door Sunday for trick-or-treats.

Larry Rudolph was my supper guest Friday evening after he fed the cattle. He said he went to Galen Navrat's sale west of Lincolnville.

Shortly after six o'clock Sunday evening, who should come on my porch and knock on my door but cousins, Marcel and Irma Benda. When I opened the door they said "trick-or-treat." I invited them in and gave them some candy. We had a nice visit. I played a little on my organ. They didn't know I could play. However, I am not a professional.

Irma Reznicek said she is still picking cucumbers. I have some tomatoes to pick before Tuesday morning's freeze.

There are a lot of birds in my yard and in the trees. I was going to burn my trash this morning but it is misting. Farmers are concerned. There is still milo to be combined. The production of corn and milo is sure good this year. So was haying.

Correction: Last week's column reported the marriage of Ernestine Poelna to Kent Oborny. It should have read, Elizabeth Paelma. We apologize for the error.
