Junior Hanschu and family stopped by my place Nov. 4. They were on a post-Halloween hayrack ride around the section. Participants included Junior and Jeanetta, Jayson and Jan Hanschu, Jakob, Jorge, and Jaxxon of Hillsboro, Jeff and Jennifer Braden and Joshua of Windom, Neil and Jolene Albrecht, Kallie and Morgan of Salina, and great-grandparents, Fred and Marguerite Utech. All were dressed in warm coats with hoods or stocking caps. Following the ride, they enjoyed a wiener roast.

Chris Strecker of Hesston, Yancy Strecker of Newton and a friend, Keane of Wichita, visited me Nov. 4. They were hunting pheasants on my property. They planned to go back home in time to get their children to the Kids' Festival at Century II.

Larry Rudolph visited Karen, Mike, and Renee Walsh Nov. 3.

Ins and Kaden Jenkins of Hillsboro spent Nov. 4-5 with their grandparents, Larry and Connie Jenkins, Oaklan and Tia.

The 4th District ALVA tour was held at the home of Robert and Hallie Novak Nov. 3. Those attending were Ralph Snyder, tour master; Richard McCoy, 4th district commander, American Legion; Lela Mae Knipp, 4th district American Legion Auxiliary vice president, of Westmoreland; Dorothy Gallaway, a member of Dwight American Legion Auxiliary; Charles and Darlene Gutsch and Bonnie Sill, Burdick; Tabea Loveless, Donna Walters, and Wesley and Pauline Fenske, Lincolnville; Dollye Novak, Hallie Novak, and Evelyn Strecker, Lost Springs; and Bill and Bob Novak, Tampa. The Burdick and Lincolnville legions received the coffee cups. A Christmas party for Legionnaires and auxiliary members will be held Dec. 2 at the Council Grove post home.

Jason Stika of Lincolnville helped Bob Reznicek with cattle Nov. 5. While they were working, Shelley, Cody, and Dalton visited with Irma Reznicek.

Alex Stuchlik said he had no news. He was going to fix a combine today. There is milo to be harvested. Many farmers are no-tilling wheat into row crop fields. Right now, the wheat fields look so good.

Guests of Connie Jenkins Nov. 6 were Lori Smithhart of Hillsboro, Adella Katz, and Selma Ingram.

Ramona and Don Beisel of Tampa and Monty and Sarah Stuchlik were Nov. 5 dinner guests of their mother, Frances Stuchlik.

Leona Hajek served on the election board at Lincolnville Nov. 7.

Terry and Grace Stuchlik, Mike, Katy, and Peter of Emporia visited Nov. 5 with Frances Stuchlik and her guests, Don and Ramona Beisel and Monty and Sarah Stuchlik.

Nicole and Alison Klug visited their grandmother, Carol Makovec Nov. 4. They went to the home of Irma Reznicek to visit.

Larry Stuchlik of Lehigh, Ross Stuchlik of Tampa, and Monty and Sarah Stuchlik were Nov. 7 visitors of Frances Stuchlik.

I don't know if anyone remembers the Clements family that used to live in Lost Springs. I heard that Rosie Clements of Salina died Saturday. Rosie graduated from Lost Springs grade school in 1949.

Bill and Dollye Novak left Oct. 22 for Chattanooga, Tenn., along the northern route. They attended an Air Force reunion Oct. 23-26. En route home the southern way, they went through Mississippi, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. Dollye said it was really beautiful in Oklahoma with all the different colored trees. They got home Oct. 29.

Alex and Jean Stuchlik and members of his band went to Williamsburg Oct. 28 to play for a dance for the St. Patrick altar society. The dinner and dance was a fund-raiser to fix the church roof.

Douglas Strecker of Hesston was at my place Oct. 28 to do some work. His wife, Marsha was having a commercial party at their home. Douglas was my enchilada supper guest.

Junior and Jeannetta Hanschu visited Delores Siggs at Goddard Oct. 26.

Lisa Hanschu held a commercial party Sunday afternoon at her home.

Irma and Bob Reznicek we to the Knights of Columbus breakfast Oct. 29 after Mass in Pilsen.

Ronnie Hajek, Darren and Trent were here Sunday morning to get their portable corral. The boys spent the weekend with their folks, Ronnie and Leona Hajek.

Those who visited Frances Stuchlik during the week were Joe Holub of Haysville, Larry and Susan Stuchlik of Lehigh, Ross and Megan Stuchlik of Tampa, Monty and Sarah Stuchlik, Jeff Scharping, and Bobbie and Andrew of Wichita. Dan and Melissa Stuchlik, Tanner and Allie of rural Marion were at Grandma Frances' house Monday evening to trick-or-treat.

Carol Makovec visited Irma Reznicek and Bob Oct. 28.

Margaret Stroda of Ramona visits her husband, Maurice at Golden Living Center, Marion, twice a week.

Kenneth and Debbie Reznicek, Nicholas and Nathan of Burlington visited with Irma and Bob Reznicek Sunday afternoon. They brought a frozen apple pie so Irma baked it and they ate it for lunch.

Laura Drebot was called home to Rose Hill Monday night. My son, Clark was quite ill with the flu. He is doing OK.

Sunday evening, Frances Stuchlik accompanied Monty and Sarah Stuchlik to the home of Dan and Melissa Stuchlik, Tanner and Allie. They hosted a barbecue supper in honor of Allie's first birthday. Other guests were Terry and Cindy Vinduska of Marion, Ruby Vinduska, Kelly and Heather Steiner and Kennedy, and Shane Svitak and Jennifer Beck and children of Pilsen, Ross and Megan Stuchlik of Tampa, Mike and Candee Toade and Joe and Gwen and children of Wichita.

My cousin, Dorothy Claussen, who lives on a farm between Alta Vista and Alma, and I had a nice visit over the phone Sunday afternoon. She updated me as to what took place in her family and our relatives in and around Wilson. She told me someone stole 23 head of cattle from one of her neighbors and they have not found them yet. Laura Drebot, who is a conductor for Union Pacific Railroad, goes through Dorothy's place when she goes to Kansas City from Herington and sees Dorothy's three-story house.

Ruby Scharping of Wichita and 99 other members are on a week's tour to Rome. This tour was planned by Bishop Jackel of Wichita.

A Veterans Day program will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at Centre Elementary School, Lost Springs.
