Junior and Jeannetta Hanschu drove to Hillsboro Dec. 2 to watch their grandsons, Jakob and Jorge Hanschu wrestle. The wrestling match was held at Hillsboro High School. Jakob won first and received a trophy. Jorge won second and received a medal. They are sons of Jayson and Jan Hanschu of Hillsboro.

Adella Katz went to Lawrence Saturday to visit Birome and Barbie Nda. She returned home Sunday evening.

Mike and Candee Toade of Wichita brought supper Saturday evening to the home of Frances Stuchlik to help her celebrate her 85th birthday. After supper, Danny and Melissa Stuchlik, Tanner and Allie of rural Marion, Ross Stuchlik of Tampa, and Sarah Stuchlik showed up to join the celebration.

Clark Strecker of Rose Hill came Saturday afternoon to visit and get Laura's clothes and other items since she will be staying home while working on the Wichita board for the Union Pacific Railroad.

Alex and Jean Stuchlik went to Goddard Sunday to enjoy the Midwestern Polka Christmas party.

Carol Makovec helped her mother, Irma Reznicek Wednesday morning.

Josh and Kyla Allenbach of Moundridge and Terry and Grace Stuchlik, Mike, Katie, and Peter of Emporia visited Dec. 3 with Frances Stuchlik.

Mildred Hajek had a birthday Dec. 4. She was 90 years old. While she was visiting her daughter, Irene and Gene Waylan at Miami, Okla., they celebrated her birthday with cake and ice cream. Mildred said she received 56 cards. Ronnie and Leona Hajek, Brett Hajek of Newton, Darren and Trent Hajek of Salina, Paul and Raelene Hajek, Gary and Vicki Hajek, and Jerome and Donna Hajek of Marion called on her this weekend to help her celebrate.

Larry Rudolph visited his sister, Mary Helen Black and Micky at Herington this past weekend.

Those coming with birthday cake and ice cream Monday night to help Frances Stuchlik celebrate her birthday were Alex and Jean Stuchlik, Monty and Sarah, Don and Ramona Beisel, Ross and Megan Stuchlik, and Larry Stuchlik.

Ramona Beisel of Tampa took Frances to Salina Dec. 5 to celebrate her birthday.

Lowell and Carla Strecker of San Antonio, Texas, called to say they would be here to celebrate Christmas with the rest of the family on Christmas Day. Lowell has not celebrated Christmas with us since 1969, before he left to serve in the Air Force for 25 years.

Since there were no walnuts this year, the two squirrels are eating off my maple tree. My cats have been disappearing. I had 15 and now have five. I hear there are bobcats and coyotes in this area.

Frances Stuchlik said she received many calls from members of her family on her birthday Dec. 4.
