Fred and Marguerite Utech accompanied Junior and Jeannetta Hanschu to the Southeast of Saline School auditorium to watch Kelly Albrecht, their granddaughter, in the Christmas program. Junior said Dee Kalzan is still teaching at Southeast of Saline. Dee Kalzan was in Jeanetta (Utech) Hanschu's graduating class from Centre High School.

Adella Katz and her mother, Selma Ingram, attended the Centre Christmas program Dec. 7 at Centre High School.

I received a telephone call from my cousin, Connie Marinthal of Northglenn, Colo., Monday morning. She said they live at the foot of the mountains and had one snowstorm of about eight inches. She informed me her sister, Marcella and Ed Biehler live in an assisted living home near Portland, ore. Ed had heart surgery and is not too well. Marcella (Micky) is doing better. As we were talking, briefing each other about our families, she informed me she was watching her honska in the oven. This is a tradition in their family for each Christmas they celebrate. Connie has seven children and she said they live everywhere in the USA. Connie was 85 years old Nov. 10. Her parents were John and Emma (Silhan) Benda. They lived near Pilsen.

Monday afternoon Adella Katz and Selma Ingram visited Evelyn Strecker. They brought me some groceries.

Frances Stuchlik went to her cousin, Lorene Nelson's funeral Dec. 7 at Holy Family Parish, Marion.

Larry and Connie Jenkins, Oaklan and Tia went to the Centre Christmas program Dec. 7 at Centre High School.

Kenny and Melinda Stuchlik of Towanda stopped in Sunday to visit Frances Stuchlik on their way to Manhattan. They were going to celebrate their son, Matthew's birthday. Matthew attends Kansas State University.

The weather this week is really warm, in the 50s and 60s. It's nice weather for Christmas shopping and feeding cattle. In our community, we could use rain.

Gregory and his mother, Betty Stenzel went shopping Dec. 9 in Salina.
