Fred and Marguerite Utech accompanied Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu to Topeka Saturday afternoon where they attended the wedding of Jennifer Powell, daughter of Keith and Dianne (Utech) Powell and Adam Tuck at St. John Lutheran Church. I heard on TV Friday evening that a severe storm was at Roxbury and everyone in Tampa was to take cover. It was heading for Ramona and Lost Springs. I immediately disconnected the TV, microwave, and air conditioner. As I was closing the south door in my dining room, the storm was on my yard. It rained so hard I could not see the buildings west of my house. The wind was blowing so hard the trees were going in an up and down and circular motion. I went for the basement. It rained all night with lots of thunder and lightning. I received at least three inches of rain.

Junior and Jeanetta drove to Manhattan Sunday morning to attend the 30th ministry anniversary celebration and potluck lunch in honor of Pastor Joe Jones. Pastor Jones served at Trinity Lutheran Church at Ramona from 1975 to 1979.

Ronnie and Leona Hajek attended the wedding Saturday of Bryan and Sasha Stika at Harvest Community Church at Wichita. After the marriage they went to Beach Activity Center for the reception, dinner, and dance. Bryan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Stika of Wichita. On the way home they stopped at Bailey's Tavern to help Terry Deines celebrate his 40th birthday. Cake and snacks were served.

I talked Sunday evening with my son, Clark Strecker of Rose Hill. He started working today at Enid, Okla., building a restaurant.

Mervin and Leona Deines accompanied Vernon and Bonnie Deines to Las Vegas, Nev. They left Sunday noon from the Wichita airport. This is in celebration of Vernon and Bonnie's 50th wedding anniversary. Mervin was best man at his brother's wedding.

Frances Stuchlik had hip surgery this past Thursday at Newton Medical Center. Monty said she is doing OK. We hope she feels better each day.
