Lost Springs: Frances Stuchlik returns home, enjoys a host of visitors

Frances Stuchlik returned Wednesday evening from Newton Medical Center after having hip surgery. Her daughter, Ramona Beisel of Tampa stayed with her Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Megan Stuchlik of Tampa stayed with her all day Monday. Ruby Scharping of Wichita is taking care of Frances today (Wednesday).

Jeff, Jennifer, and Joshua Braden of Windom, Marlon Utech of Collierville, Tenn., and Sally Utech of Lawrence were Friday and Saturday overnight guests of Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu. After the farm auction Saturday of Fred and Marguerite Utech, the birthdays of Jennifer Braden and Jayson Hanschu were celebrated. Those present were Junior and Jeanetta, Jayson, Jan, Jakob, Jorge, and Jaxxon Hanschu of Hillsboro, Jeff, Jennifer, and Josh Braden, Neil and Jolene Albrecht, Kallie and Morgan of Salina, Marlon Utech, Sally Utech, Garland, Diana, Lance, Amy, and Alex Utech of Amsterdam, Mo.

Selma Ingram and granddaughters, Oaklan and Tia Jenkins visited Friday afternoon with Evelyn Strecker. Larry and Connie Jenkins, parents of Oaklan and Tia, went Friday through Sunday to Topeka to celebrate their 27th wedding anniversary.

Phillip and Elizabeth Lavery of Herington visited Oaklan and Tia Jenkins during their spring break.

Alex Stuchlik and Mervin Deines went Saturday to the Fred and Marguerite Utech sale.

Clark Strecker of Rose Hill spent Thursday with Evelyn Strecker. He did some work for me. Douglas Strecker of Hesston was my Saturday afternoon and supper guest. He too did some work for me. Clark visited again Wednesday and serviced my riding mower. He also was my dinner guest.

Joe Holub of Hayesville, his daughters, Tish Taylor of Olathe and Jennie Biggs of Wichita visited Saturday with Frances Stuchlik.

Mary Loewen of Hillsboro, Lori Torline, Carolyn and Matthew of Derby spent all day Thursday with their mother, Irma Reznicek and brother, Bob.

Bob and Irma Reznicek went to the Knights of Columbus potluck dinner and drawing Sunday after Mass at St. John Nep. Catholic Church at Pilsen.

Randy and Karen Stuchlik and family of Abilene visited Sunday with grandma, Frances Stuchlik.

There is a sign of spring. The squirrels, birds, and rabbits are seen in my yard. Trees are budding and some of the flowers are blooming. The snow did cover the ground Thursday morning but didn't last long because the day was warm.

Weldon Deines of Herington accompanied his brother, Mervin Deines Tuesday night to the KSU women's basketball game with Western Kentucky at Manhattan. K-State won by a point in overtime.

Wayne and Marita Schwartzman of Park City visited Tuesday night with me.

Larry Rudolph went Saturday to the Utech sale. He said there was a nice crowd.

Irma and Bob Reznicek went to Chenelle Makovec's confirmation at St. John Catholic Church at Herington. Chenelle is the daughter of Mark Makovec of Herington. Later they joined other relatives and friends for supper and reception at Herington Community Building.

Terry and Grace Stuchlik and son Peter of Emporia Monday with visited their mother, Frances Stuchlik.

Larry Rudolph helped Charles Heiser Wednesday morning with some work after feeding my cattle.
