Lost Springs: Graduates honored

Renae Sue Walsh, daughter of Mike and Karen Walsh, was one of the graduating seniors at Centre High School Sunday afternoon. She was honored with a reception following the ceremony at Kitchenmaster's building in Lost Springs.

Those attending the reception were Mike and Karen Walsh, Paul, Kim, and Alexander Garrelts of Wichita, Ray and Connie Hastings of El Dorado, Larry Rudolph of Lost Springs, Mary and Micky Black of Herington, Chad and Mindy Grow of Andover, Shane and Jennifer McElroy, Hannah, Josh, and Kendall of Goddard.

Dan, Gina, and Josh Bryant, Steve and Lyneva Bryan, Jesse, Zoe, and Isabelle Lampe, Lorraine and Lori Roberts, John and Kathy Herpich, Jon and Dawn Friesen, and Jayme Becker, all of Herington.

Melissa Zieammermann, Cara, Larry, and Johnny and Wayne and Jane Weber, Marion; Jeanette and Christopher Wirtz, Greg and Kellie Wyatt and Quintin, Rosie Zinn, Casey Jarvis and Danny Zinn, Maggie and Shelly Wirtz, all of Lost Springs.

Darold and Martha Albrecht of Lawrence visited with Mike, Karen, and Renae Walsh Monday afternoon. They came to congratulate Renae and decorate graves at Ramona and Pilsen.

Bob Reznicek accompanied Charles and Mary Loewen to Al's Café May 9 for supper.

Evelyn Strecker accompanied Selma Ingram to Hillsboro Wednesday morning. She had a TB shot at Parkside where she is employed.

Micky Black of Herington mowed uncle Larry Rudolph's lawn May 18.

Bill and Dollye Novak hosted a dinner May 12 as a pre-Mother's Day celebration and observance of Bill's birthday. Guests were Nancy Novak of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Jim and Tina Novak and Travis of Tampa.

Selma Ingram was a Friday supper guest of Larry and Connie Jenkins, Tia and Oaklan. After supper they went to Centre Elementary School to attend the art show. Awards were given. Tia received a first for her artwork.

Ramona Beisel and Frances Stuchlik accompanied Monty Stuchlik to Abilene May 19 where they attended a barbecue at the home of Randy and Karen Stuchlik in honor of their daughter, Amelia, who graduated from Abilene High School. There were other relatives and friends at the barbecue and graduation.

Alex and Jean Stuchlik attended the marriage May 19 of Andrea Kleiber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Kleiber of Salina and Dale Klenda, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Klenda, at Pilsen Catholic church. They also went to the reception and dance at the Pilsen Community Center.

Donald and Pauline Tajchman of Great Bend and Pat Tajchman visited Sunday afternoon with Evelyn Strecker. They showed me pictures of tornado damage in Great Bend. There were 10 tornadoes in and near Great Bend.

Selma Ingram accompanied Adella Katz to Centre High School commencement Sunday afternoon. They attended a reception in honor of Roberta Brubacher at the home of Jim and Linda Green, Lincolnville.

Douglas Strecker of Hesston and Clark Strecker of Rose Hill were here May 19. They were here to spray thistles in the pastures and were my dinner and supper guests.

Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu went to the commencement at Centre High School Sunday afternoon. After graduation they attended three receptions — one at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Deines in honor of their daughter, Jessica; one at the Clay Tajchman home in honor of their daughter, Chelsey; and one at the Steve Jirak home, in honor of their son, Seth.

John and Helen Reznicek picked up Irma Reznicek Sunday at St. Luke Living Center. They attended Mass at St. John Catholic Church in Herington, where they attended the first communion for Madison Heitfield, daughter of Troy and Robyn Heitfield and Alex Stika, son of Mike and Angie Stika. The reception was held at the Catholic hall. In the afternoon, additional relatives and friends attended a barbecue meal at the home of Troy and Robyn Heitfield. John and Helen took Irma back to Marion in the evening.

Frances Stuchlik accompanied Don and Ramona Beisel and Monty and Sarah Stuchlik to Towanda to attend Patrick Stuchlik's graduation from Towanda High School. After the commencement, a reception was held at the home of Patrick's parents, Kenneth and Melinda Stuchlik. There were other relatives and friends at the reception.

This morning we got just enough rain to water my garden. I served onions, creamed potatoes, peas, and dill for dinner Saturday. Fresh food from the garden tastes good.

Fred and Marguerite Utech accompanied Junior an Jeanetta Hanschu to Southeast of Saline school to attend Kelly Albrecht's graduation from kindergarten to first grade. Kelly is the daughter of Neil and Jolene Albrecht.

I hear people are going out and catching fish. My son, Clark caught some channel cat May 15 at a lake.

Doc Robert and Hallie Novak drove to Chanute May 11 and were guests of their daughter, Robyn and Troy Pervins and children. They attended granddaughter, Amy's, commencement May 12.

Fred and Marguerite Utech accompanied Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu to a church south of McPherson Tuesday evening where they attended their grandson, Josh Braden's preschool program. Josh is the son of Jeff and Jennifer Braden of Windom.

Alex and Jean Stuchlik went to a reception Sunday afternoon in honor of Travis Hett and Kari Tajchman at Marion Country Club.

Frances Stuchlik accompanied Kyla Allenbach of Moundridge to the home of John and Chandra Stuchlik May 23 to attend a barbecue in honor of Ben Baker, who graduated as an eighth grader at Centre High School.

Leona Hajek drove to the Kansas Coliseum Saturday to attend her niece, Reva Phillips' graduation. Leona picked up her dad, Robert Richmond, and took him along.

Leona Hajek also attended the Centre High School commencement Sunday afternoon.

Raelene Hajek drove to Hugoton May 13 to celebrate Mother's Day. She stayed till Tuesday night to take care of Jason and Carla Hajek's son, Cooper.

Raelene Hajek went to Goodland May 19 to visit Jon and Lynette McClean, Cade, Maggie, and Josie. They went to Maggie's dance recital Saturday. Raelene came back home Sunday.

Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu have a new grandson. Landon William was born May 10 to Neil and Jolene Albrecht. Sisters are Kallie and Morgan.

Jayson, Jan, and Jorge Hanschu hosted a birthday party May 12 for Jacob's 10th and Jaxxon's third birthday. Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu and Fred and Marguerite Utech attended.

Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu and Fred and Marguerite attended the kindergarten program and promotion May 7 at Hillsboro. Jorge Hanschu was in the program.

Larry Rudolph visited May 13 with Mike and Karen Walsh and Renee. He also called on Evelyn Strecker that morning.

Robert and Debbie Burns and family of Wichita spent the weekend with her parents, Alex and Jean Stuchlik.

Douglas and Marsha Strecker and Matthew came May 13 for Mother's Day and gave me a beautiful gerbera daisy plant in a basket. Douglas stayed to mow my lawn. Marsha and Matthew went to Ramona to help Marsha's parents, Reign and Marlene Anduss serve dinner at the Ramona Café. Douglas and I ate dinner at the Ramona Café. In the afternoon, Marsha and Matthew returned to my home. We had a light lunch before they returned to their home in Hesston. I received a beautiful card from son Lowell of San Antonio, Texas, and a phone call from Clark of Rose Hill. It was a beautiful day.

Christopher Stuchlik visited his parents, Alex and Jean Stuchlik and guests.

Adella Katz and Selma Ingram were Mother's Day dinner guests of Larry and Connie Jenkins, Oaklan and Tia.

Alex and Jean Stuchlik, Robert and Debbie Burns and children were Mother's Day dinner guests of Gary and JoAnn Stuchlik and family.

Bob Reznicek picked up his mother at St. Luke Living Center Sunday and went to St. Mark Catholic Church for services. After mass they drove to Cottonwood Point at Marion Reservoir. John and Helen Reznicek hosted a barbecue dinner at the shelter house. Guests were Bob and Carol Makovec, Randy and Colleen Klug, Alison and Nicole, Troy and Robyn Heitfield, Taylor and Madison, Jennifer Makovec, Kenneth and Debbi Reznicek, Sara, Nicholas, and Nathan, Charles and Mary Loewen, and Irma Reznicek and Bob.

Alex and Jean Stuchlik attended the middle and high school concerts Tuesday night at Centre High School.

Ruby Scharping of Wichita was a Saturday overnight guest of her mother, Frances Stuchlik. Saturday night supper guests were Ruby, Don and Ramona Beisel, and Mike Toade. Ruby and Ramona and Don Beisel were Mother's Day dinner and supper guests of Frances.

Alex and Jean Stuchlik and Debbie Burns attended the home school association awards night at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Marion. Charles Stuchlik, son of Chris and Melissa Stuchlik, received his eighth grade certificate.

Monty and Sarah Stuchlik, and Mike and Candice Toade, Kenneth and Melinda stopped in to wish their mother, Frances "happy Mother's Day." Frances also received phone calls from other children. That night, Alex and Jean Stuchlik visited her.

Brett Hajek, Darren Hajek, and Trent Hajek spent some time this weekend with Ronnie and Leona Hajek. Trent graduated May 13 from Salina Area Technical School as a diesel mechanic. Ronnie and Leona, Brett, Darren, and Trent's cousin, Tyler Richmond attended the graduation.
