Girl Scouts Oaklan and Tia Jenkins joined other Girl Scouts June 9 and went to Marion County Lake to camp for the weekend. Larry and Connie Jenkins and other parents joined their children June 10 for supper.

Clark Strecker and Tailor of Rose Hill spent Thursday with me. Tailor brought me some banana bread she baked. She and her dad mowed the lawn and did some other work. I made a mulberry pie for dessert for dinner.

Jennifer Braden and Joshua of Windom spent June 9 and 10 with her parents, Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu.

Douglas Strecker of Hesston spent June 10 with me. He brought in the large alfalfa bales off the field. On the way to my place he stopped in Hillsboro to get a battery for my Allis tractor and stopped at St. Mary's Cemetery east of Tampa to pick up our flowers. Marsha didn't come along. She attended the yard sales in Hesston.

Junior Hanschu said he started combining his wheat June 13. He said it was dry and tested 60. Douglas told me the farmers around Hesston were almost through harvesting their wheat and it was making 16 bushels an acre.

Alex and Jean Stuchlik and Gary and Derek Stuchlik attended the fun night June 9 at St. Mark's Activity Center, Marion. After the taco salad supper, people performed on their own choosing. Alex, son Gary, and grandson Derek played for a dance.

Larry Rudolph was here Saturday morning to visit with Douglas and me.

We extend sympathy to the Reznicek and Steiner families. Anne (Reznicek) Steiner died at the age of 94. Rosary was June 12 at St. John Nep. Church, Pilsen. The funeral was June 13. Burial was in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery east of Tampa.

Randy Stuchlik, Annalisa and Jacob of Abilene visited Frances Stuchlik June 10. They brought hamburger for the barbecue supper.

Frances Stuchlik accompanied Sarah Stuchlik to Galva June 11 where they attended a bridal shower for Kyla Stuchlik from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. The shower was held at Kyla's aunt's home, Amanda Thompson.

John Reznicek of Marion helped his brothers, Bob and Tom Reznicek combine wheat June 10.

I extend my sympathy to the Anita (Shields) Wall family. I drove my Chevy into the yard June 9 after shopping in Herington. It quit running. Jim Sohn replaced the alternator Tuesday morning. Therefore I was unable to go to Lewis Cemetery for Anita's memorial service and burial. I remember when her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Omer Shields, lived east of where I live. Her grandparents, J.B. and Mrs. Shields lived south of where I live. Leota Shields was my music teacher during the summer.
