Lost Springs: Many attend Obornys anniversary celebration

Bob and Irma Reznicek attended the 50th wedding anniversary Saturday of George and Kathleen Oborny at St. John Nep. Catholic Church at Pilsen. Mass was celebrated by Father Paul Oborny at 10:30 a.m. Afterward a dinner and reception was served to invited guests.

Emmet and Minnie Sroufe of Garden Plain visited Saturday with Larry Rudolph before attending Obornys' 50th wedding anniversary celebration. Larry Rudolph also attended the celebration.

Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu drove Sunday morning to Salina to attend a post-Easter cantata at Salina Trinity Lutheran Church. Their son-in-law, Neil Albrecht sang in the cantata. The Hanschus attended the Centre High School athletic banquet Tuesday night where their son, Jayson Hanschu of Hillsboro was the speaker.

Clark Strecker of Rose Hill was my Tuesday dinner guest. He came to mow my lawn.

As I am writing this news it is raining hard. I still don't have my garden planted. Quite a few inches have fallen over the past couple of weeks.

Fred and Marguerite Utech accompanied Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu Saturday to Hillsboro to attend the Justcuz Christian concert from Kansas City, performed at Zion Lutheran Church. Lunch was served afterward, then more singing.

Irma and Bob Reznicek joined other relatives and friends Saturday evening at the home of Troy and Robyn Heitfield to celebrate their son, Drake's birthday. Ice cream and cake were served.

Larry and Connie Jenkins, Oaklan and Tia went Friday to McPherson to attend the rehearsal and dinner of Michael Jenkins and Sonya Scawartz who were married Saturday. Selma Ingram accompanied her daughter Adele Katz to Hillsboro where they picked up Lori Smithhart and then went to McPherson to attend the wedding. They also attended the supper and reception. Oaklan and Tia served at the reception table.

Ramona and Don Beisel and Ross Stuchlik, all of Tampa and Monty and Sarah Stuchlik visited Saturday with Frances Stuchlik.

Randy Stuchlik and son, Jacob of Abilene, Alex and Jean Stuchlik, and Monty and Sarah Stuchlik spent Sunday afternoon chatting with Frances Stuchlik.

Irma and Bob Reznicek went Sunday afternoon to Marion Manor at Marion to help Stanley Konarik celebrate his 99th birthday.

Selma Ingram had coffee Wednesday morning with her daughter, Connie Jenkins.

Marcel Tajchman of McPherson visited Tuesday afternoon with Alex Stuchlik. They took a few moments to visit Frances Stuchlik.

Douglas and Marsha Strecker and son, Matthew of Hesston spent Saturday afternoon with me. They finished papering my kitchen and brought a barbecued rib supper. Marsha and Matthew went to Ramona to check on her parents, Reign and Marlene Anduss and brought back pieces of her mother's pies.

Irma and Bob Reznicek stopped Sunday to visit Sylvia Bezdek after attending Mass at Pilsen Catholic church.
