Centre Elementary and High School expressed a "thank you" to veterans on Veterans Day by presenting a program in the gym. Sixteen veterans were present who served in the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps. They told the audience where and when they served. The audience joined in singing "America the Beautiful," "This is My Country," "This Land is Your Land," and "God Bless America." Following the program guests were invited to the lunch room for refreshments. Those in our community who attended were Bill Novak, Dr. Bob and Hallie Novak, Ronnie Hajek, Larry Rudolph, and Evelyn Strecker.

As president of Lost Springs American Legion Auxiliary for 30 years, I would like to say, "Everyday is Veterans Day." Let us not forget those men and women who have and are sacrificing lives so we may have freedom.

Selma Ingram visited Monday afternoon with Jane Miller.

I received a telephone call Saturday from my sister, Lorena Pospisil of Libuse, La., informing me our last aunt, Jean Pospisil of Winter Park, Fla., died Friday. She was 93 years old. She is survived by her only child, Jon Pospisil and his two children, Evan and Anja, all of Winter Park. Her husband, Stanley, died in 1971.

Marcel Tajchman of Wichita spent Saturday with Alex Stuchlik. They went hunting.

Irma Reznicek and Bob attended the third annual military pilgrimage to Pilsen Friday in honor of Father Kapaun. They had dinner at St. John Nep. Catholic Church basement and attended the military ceremony of the laying of the wreath at the Father Kapaun Memorial.

Douglas and Marsha Strecker and Matthew hosted a potluck dinner Sunday at noon at their new home in Hesston. Guests were Sonya Strecker, Yancy and Julie Strecker and Gabriel of Newton, Chris and Jeri Strecker, Autumn and Chris Jr. of Hesston, Helen Jean McGonigle of Wichita, Wayne and Marieta Schwartzman of Park City, John and Pat Schwartzman of Salina, Max and Estella Kohler and Kathy Howell of Silver Springs, Md., Donna Hiatt of Martinsburg, W.V., Clark and Laura Strecker and Tailor of Rose Hill, and Evelyn Strecker.

Irma Reznicek accompanied her daughter, Carol Makovec to Goff Saturday where they spent the weekend with Ed and Mary (Fund) Reznicek and Ella and Evan and Mary's mother, Alice Fund. They attended a dinner theater Saturday night at Wetmore High School. Ella had a lead role in the play "Once Upon a Mattress." Carol and her mother, Irma returned home Sunday.

John Schwartzman of Salina picked me up Monday morning and we went to Emporia where we met my sister, Estella and her husband, Max Kohler and their daughters, Donna and Kathy. We went to Newman Hospital to visit our brother, Emil Pospisil. He is there for a few days then will return to Marion Manor at Marion. We ate lunch in Emporia before going our separate ways. The Kohlers fly back to Maryland today.

Frances Stuchlik accompanied Monty and Sarah Stuchlik Thursday to the home of Ross and Megan in Tampa to attend a supper in honor of Megan's birthday. Other guests were George and Dawn Luna and Cora Rogers of Antelope and Emmanuel and Julia Luna of Lost Springs.

I received a call Monday night from my cousin, Dorothy Claussen of Alma. We had a lot to talk about since we haven't been in touch for some time. Dorothy's eyesight is so poor, she is not able to write.

Leona Deines informed me that Estelle Strom of Oklahoma died. Services are at Lewis Cemetery at Ramona. Estelle was the daughter of Henry and Lydia Schneider and was born on a farm two miles north of my place.

Don and Ramona Beisel of Tampa visited Saturday with their mother, Frances Stuchlik.
