Alex and Jean Stuchlik visited with Evelyn Strecker Aug. 17. They brought me zucchini squash and okra. I ground the zucchini and put two cups in each plastic bag, ready for baking zucchini bread.

Larry Rudolph stopped in Friday to check the battery and visit.

Douglas Strecker of Hessto picked me up Aug. 17 and we went to Hesston where I visited a chiropractor. We went shopping at Hillsboro on the way back to my place. He did some work around here.

Jayson and Jan Hanschu of Hillsboro hosted a birthday party Aug. 18 for their son, Jorge's seventh birthday. The children played games and the Hanschus served a barbecue beef and pork supper. Guests were Fred and Marguerite Utech, Sallie Utech of Lawrence, Jeff and Jennifer Braden and Joshua of Windom, Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu, Neil and Jolene Albrecht, Kallie, Morgan, and Landon of Salina, Joe and Joann Nowak of Pilsen, Tim and Jennifer Frasher and family of Wichita, and friends.

My cousin, Ed Bezdek of Millbrae, Calif., called Aug. 18 to let me know the Pospisil-Bezdek-Benda reunion will be July 1-3, 2008, near Olympia, Wash. Ed will be 93 years old in November. Due to health problems, he is not able to do any traveling.

Bob Reznicek picked up his mother, Irma Reznicek at Marion Aug. 15 and they went to church at St. Mark Catholic Church, Marion. It was a holy day. They later met Carol Makovec at The Big Scoop for lunch.

My sister, Estella and husband Max of Silver Springs, Md., called Aug. 19. She said it was cool in Maryland. They informed me they were great-grandparents, a boy. His name was Remy, born July 17. They wanted to know how brother, Emil Pospisil was doing, and other relatives.

Don and Ramona Beisel of Tampa visited Frances Stuchlik Aug. 19.

Bob Reznicek picked up Irma Reznicek Aug. 19 at Marion and they went to church at St. Mark. Bob had to work so they didn't eat out.

Reign and Marlene Anduss of Ramona stopped Aug. 22 to check on me. They were on the way to Marion to work at their house.
