Lowell Hanschu

Lowell G. Hanschu, 78, Joplin, Mo., died March 30, 2008.

Born Dec. 9, 1929, at Ramona, he was the son of Gottfried and Mary (Riffel) Hanschu.

He was a small business entrepreneur and served in the peacetime U.S. Army. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ramona.

On Aug. 5, 1950, he married Margaret Dosch at Topeka.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Eldina Judd.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret of Joplin, Mo.; two sons, Andrew Hanschu of Fort Mill, S.C., and Daniel Hanschu of Neosho, Mo.; two daughters, Martha Falley of Joplin, Mo., and Suzanne Nixon of Springhill; brother, Roland Hanschu of Chico, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ramona, with the Rev. Clark Davis officiating.

Inurnment will be at Lewis Cemetery, Ramona.

Memorial funds have been established with the church at Ramona, E.P.C.-New Creation Joplin Mission Group, Livonia, Mich., or Martin Luther School, Joplin, Mo.
