MAC barn dance on hold
A barn dance that was tentatively planned for fall has been postponed until spring.
Board members of Marion Advancement Campaign announced there was not a facility available in Marion to have the event.
Proceeds from the dance will benefit the MAC foundation for community projects. The first project the foundation is considering is a movie theatre and community center.
Two projects currently are raising funds for the foundation.
Raffle tickets for a quilt made by Debbie Buchholz of Marion are available for a donation.
The drawing will be held at the November Marion Chamber of Commerce luncheon. Ticket holders do not need to be present at the meeting to win.
Tickets may be purchased at local businesses where the quilt will be on display.
"Support Our Troops" and "God Bless America" magnets also are available.
The $2 magnets are available at Western Associates, Mike's Service Center, Tampa State Bank, Butler Community College, and Pilsen State Bank.
