Marilyn Winslow

Marilyn Fern Winslow, 70, of McPherson, died Oct. 26, 2006, at her home.

She was born May 25, 1936, in Galva, to Marion Earle and Edna Ruth (Embers) Bruce.

On March 28, 1955, she was married to Gerald Lee Winslow in Nebraska.

A 1954 graduate of McPherson High School, Marilyn then attended and graduated from beauty school. She later received her LPN from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, McPherson. She was a homemaker, hairdresser at Powder Puff Salon, a nurse at Parkers Nursing Home, was a private duty nurse, and a partner with her mother in E&M Rainbow Nursing Homes.

She was preceded in death by her father and a son, Lee Allen Winslow.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; a daughter, Rene Korbe of McPherson; three sons, Rick of Marion, Jim of Hillsboro, and Bruce of Canton; her mother, Edna R. Bruce of McPherson; two sisters, Trevelyn Grimes of Wichita and MaDonna Earnest of Medicine Lodge; a brother, Verlyn Bruce of McPherson; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday at Glidden-Ediger Chapel, McPherson, with pastors Terry Post and Sherman Nungester officiating. Burial was at McPherson Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Kansas, McPherson, or Mercy Hospital of Moundridge.
