Marion Elvis winner is in finals

The judges at this year's Chingawassa Days Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest knew what they were doing.

They not only picked the winner of the Marion contest but that winner, Joseph Hall of Lincoln, Neb., now is one of 10 finalists in the international contest in Memphis, Tenn.

Twenty-four contestants made it to Memphis but 14 were eliminated Sunday in the final qualifying round. The winner will be chosen Friday to commemorate Elvis Presley's death which was Aug. 16, 1977.

The "Ultimate Elvis" will receive $5,000 cash, a $5,000 shopping spree at Graceland tourist shops, a $3,000 gift certificate toward the purchase of an Elvis-inspired jumpsuit, a one-of-a-kind "Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist" championship belt, and other prizes.
